The men of The Full Monty lose a whole lot more than their shirts. In fact, in this 1997 comedy, six laid-off steelworkers decide to bare “the full monty” (the British term for everything) as a way to gain a leg up on the Chippendales and make money to support their families during hard times. Much of the movie’s charm is in the way it explores the insecurities of your average, middle-aged man who is not the traditional beefcake pinup by any stretch of the imagination. In the end, the group gives an epic one-night show that proves it’s not about what you’ve got, but how you work it.
