Humans, Targeted: Fox Adds & Cuts for Fall

HUMAN TARGET: Chance's (Mark Valley, L) investigation into Ilsa's (Indira Varma, R) late husband's past uncovers a web of lies and deception that may tear the team apart forever in the "Marshall Pucci" season finale episode of HUMAN TARGET airing Wednesday, Feb. 9 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. ©2011 Fox Broadcasting Co. The major-network “upfront” schedule announcements are next week, but as usual the programming news for next season is coming out earlier. Yesterday saw a major news dump from Fox, which announced several shows it would add and cut from its roster next year. Out: The Chicago Code, Traffic Light, Lie to Me, Breaking In and Human Target. In: Alcatraz, a prison mystery from J. J. Abrams (working again with Jorge Garcia); Bones’ spinoff The Finder; The New Girl, starring Zooey Deschanel (sis of Emily, for another Bones connection); and Jaime Pressly sitcom I Hate My Teenage Daughter.

So far this morning, Human Target seems to be leading the fan-outcry sweepstakes—at least in the highly unscientific measure of what’s trending on Twitter. What will you miss most?

My favorite shows never survive…Lie To Me and Breaking In. Lie To Me will be missed for all the reasons that have been mentioned here previously. And Breaking In is hysterical – just good plain fun. They haven’t even given it a chance. So sad to see these two shows go. :-(

The only one I am sad to see go is Chicago Code.. and frankly the end result has been a waste of Ryan/Minear/Glatter/etc.’s talents.

I will gladly take Chicago Code’s demise if that’s what it takes for Fox to roll the sci-fi dice again on Alcatraz, even in the face of Fringe and Terra Nova’s troubles.

(Fox: All time travel, all the time!… because NBC is after the technology.)

I actually really like(d) Traffic Light, though I’m not at all surprised to see it go…

My wife really enjoyed Chicago Code, not the least for the pretty scenics. It’s too bad it won’t have a chance to grow into the solid show it could’ve been (like Detroit 187).

I feel comfortable in saying that Human Target was not a good show. But it had something – a sense of fun adventure with some good actors – very similar to The A-Team. I’ll miss the Mindless Violence niche it occupied (along with The Cape).

I’ll really miss Lie to Me. Where will I get my Tim Roth fix now?

I’ll throw in my bit of sorrow for the loss of Human Target, but I’m really missing first season. I never thought adding two pretty gorgeous women to a witty bunch of guys would take away from a TV show… but it did. First season was a solid action show with some compelling plot elements. Second season was an action show that was worth putting on in the background.
