'Friday'

Just when we thought teen pop couldn’t get any worse, along came Rebecca Black’s “Friday.” A hasty first listen doesn’t reveal quite how bad the song is — after all, a young girl singing about her excitement over a party mixed with a soft rap interlude is a pretty standard pop formula these days. But even the most banal of Britney songs wouldn’t have affronted us with these lyrics: “Kicking in the front seat/ Sitting in the back seat/ Gotta make my mind up/ Which seat can I take?” From chanting the word fun over and over to listing the days of the week (thanks, Rebecca, for letting us know that Saturday follows Friday and that “Sunday comes afterwards”), “Friday” is hilariously awful. Unfortunately, the video is also compulsively watchable, not to mention everywhere on the Internet. So the only thing more troubling than the inanity of the song’s lyrics is how many times you might actually listen to them.
'Miracles'

Disclaimer: The above video has strong language.
The definitive group of the Juggalo music scene, the face-paint-wearing Insane Clown Posse have built a career out of violence-advocating, women-bashing rap. Yet their 2010 single “Miracles” provided a sharp contrast to the duo’s usual music. Throughout the song, both Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope marvel at, well, pretty much everything that’s already been proven unmiraculous. The seemingly endless list of things they deem miracles includes music, magnets, long-necked giraffes, rainbows, shooting stars and a cell-phone-eating pelican. But just in case you’re worried that they’ve lost all of their edge, the ICP still uses plenty of profanity and assures listeners that “There’s enough miracles here/ To blow your brains.”
