CNN’s new primetime show Piers Morgan Tonight immediately improved on Larry King Live’s ratings its first night out, getting over two million viewers for its inaugural interview with Oprah Winfrey. Time will tell how much of that is due to Morgan and how much to the guest; as last night’s guest, Howard Stern, said: “What’s going to happen three months from now when you’re interviewing Scott Baio?”

But  Stern did his part to keep the buzz going by discussing his male endowment (I know, it’s Howard, what else is new) and, in the clip above, by re-dissing Jay Leno to comemmorate the first anniversary of the Jaypocalypse. “If I was Jay Leno,” he said, “I would have manned up. I would have said, ‘Listen. Conan, you think you’re so good, I’m going to go to Fox network or I’m going to go to ABC, and I’m going to kick your ass.’ That’s what a man does.”

Because as we all know, for Howard Stern, it’s always about being the bigger, or as the case may be, smaller man. Any second night impressions of Piers’ progress?
