Before Don’t Look Now, who knew a little red coat could be so creepy? Based on a Daphne du Maurier story, the 1973 film follows John and Laura Baxter as they attempt to go about life in Venice following the death of their young, red-raincoat-wearing daughter back in England. Rather than escape the past, they remain engulfed in it — and in future calamities. They meet a psychic woman (naturally, she’s blind), who claims to see their dead daughter and warns of dangers. Meanwhile, John has extrasensory powers himself. Oh, and there’s also a serial killer on the loose. (And, unrelated, a killer love scene.)
