Okay, so it’s not really a Hollywood production, but the sequel to SyFy “exquisitely ridiculous” Sharknado (pictured) certainly meets the criteria of “worst-ever” status. The cable channel actually held a contest to help name the follow-up to this summer’s viral sensation. (The movie goes into production this fall and will air next summer.) More than 5,000 viewers submitted ideas via Twitter — some of them not half bad. Among the (inexplicably) rejected submissions: Sharknado 2: The Sharkening (a sly nod to the Highlander movies) and the rather clever Sharknado 2: The Great White Way (as the new movie has sharks raining down on the Big Apple). Instead, Syfy went the stultifying obvious route. Which means your children might one day watch Sharknado 14: The Fourteenth One.
Since there’s nothing to show from the not-yet-in-production sequel, let us revisit the mindless majesty of the original Sharknado:
