"The quickening" is from Old English cwic, cwicu alive, animatedalert’, an old Germanic word related to Latin Vivus (Grimm's law changes V/U/W to KW/Q/GU between Latin and Germanic, e.g. quod/what, quando/when, quo/who, guarantee/warranty, guerre/war, etc). So "The quickening" means "to come alive". In Dutch, kweek means to breed or grow. "Quickly" originally meant "lively" as in "step lively" hence "quickly".

I actually liked WallStreet 2.  Somethings could have been better but we must remember that Wallstreet 1 was actuall only a 3 out of 5 stars movie anyway.  The only thing that made it memoriable was Douglas's charactor (classic).
