See Bristol Palin's Acting Debut

The Palin Family’s domination of American television proceeds this summer, as Bristol Palin makes a guest appearance July 5 on ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager—a teen-pregnancy-themed show that fits with Palin’s teen-pregnancy-themed public career. And now you can watch for yourself a clip from Palin’s acting—or maybe the proper term would be “standing very still and speaking lines”—debut.

Question: Is she reading that “…and I’m Yo-Yo Ma” line with extremely dry sarcasm? Or does her character actually believe that she is Yo-Yo Ma? That, budding thespians, is what they call ambiguity.

    Glee Watch: NYADA, NYADA, NYADA

Spoilers for the season finale of Glee below:

One beef I often have with Glee episodes is that they move too fast, go in too many directions, try to cram in too much at once. You might say that about “Goodbye,” the season 3 finale, but in this case that approach seemed about right. It’s an episode about graduation, and graduation is something that, no matter how much you plan for and anticipate it, still goes too fast. Graduating is something you do, but in the moment it feels like something that happens to you, suddenly and all at once, like going over a waterfall.

Wow, that Yo-Yo Ma line definitely deserves to go viral. I’m going to start throwing that into everyday conversation in places it shouldn’t make sense.

Wow. That is some unbelievably affectless “acting.”

  • jimatl

So bad. Her delivery is so awkward and stilted that its hard to even understand what she is saying. And these were the “good takes.”

Not quite what I would expect from the daughter of such a brilliant actress as Sarah Palin. I mean she sells those Tea Partiers on the idea that she’s a legitimate politician so so very well.

She’s just like a young Pauly Shore!

Seriously? How many blog posts is Time going to put up on this? There’s already one on Swampland and now here.
    .
Instead of insipidly following Bristol Palin’s every move, why don’t you ask your editors if you are allowed to take kickbacks for copy like your fellow “journalist” Josh Ozersky?
    .
Yup, folks. Time writers now accept lavish free catering from chefs in return for positive copy in the webpages of Time. And Time is apparently ok with it. So next time Time writes about a person or product or event or really whatever with the illusion of objectivity, know in the back of your mind that the writer may have gotten free stuff from the subject in return.
