The second season of HBO’s True Blood ended on a cliffhanger, as vampire Bill asked mortal-or-mostly-mortal (I think) Sookie (a.k.a. “Suh-key”) for her hand in marriage, then disappeared after she asked for a minute alone to think. The first three episodes of True Blood’s season 3 arrived a while back, with the entirely reasonable request from the network and producers that reviews not reveal—well, pretty much any interesting information that would allow an actual review with citations from the show.

So I’ll say instead that Sunday’s premiere, um, addresses the cliffhanger, that it introduces some intriguing new rivals and wrinkles in True Blood’s Southern-fried vampire-verse, and that—ah, well, if you’re interested, you’re probably already going to watch. Oh, there’s nudity. I’m pretty confident I can say there’s nudity.

I liked the second season of True Blood much better than the first, in particular the Godric storyline, which gave the series greater depth than before, but I’m still not likely to blog it regularly. I’ll keep an eye on it, though, and I may check back in as interest and time permit. Your (spoiler-free, please) hopes for the season?
