This Seal song should have been a soulful match to Lee’s raspy voice, but he seems to be coasting: it’s an unimaginative interpretation (make that almost a note-for-note reproduction), there are off notes, he doesn’t have the falsetto and he doesn’t seem to connect. The cries of “I love you, Lee!” from the crowd, though, suggest that coasting may work for another week.
