Willard Week continued last night, with Fred Willard following up his Modern Family guest spot with an appearance on Chuck, pairing with Swoosie Kurtz as a married spy couple whose squabbling gave newly attached Chuck and Sarah pause. Also potentially giving them pause is another married spy couple, the protagonists of Undercovers, which NBC picked up for fall. As I said yesterday, I don’t think the pickup is curtains for Chuck, but it doesn’t help, and in any case it just puts a point on the fact that Chuck’s renewal prospects are still uncertain. Yesterday, producer Josh Schwartz asked fans to be sure to watch live, the better to count in the ratings. Did you do your part? It beats eating a sandwich at Subway.
