This is not the kind of song you want to perform introduced as “high school student Aaron Kelly”: you either seem too young, or like a novelty act. (Aaron had to change the lyric “leave the young thing alone,” because, well, is anyone younger than him?) It was a fine high-school recital performance, but he didn’t sell its passion at all, and as Simon said, Idol has heard this song many times, and better. OK should be good enough for Aaron this week, though.
