American Idol: The Final Eleven

Legendary music veteran Miley Cyrus imparted her decades of showbiz wisdom to the young whippersnappers of tonight as they chose #1 songs from the Billboard Hot 100 (a list that’s three times as old as Cyrus is). Who benefited from her mentoring? We’ll find out… after the break! (Or, actually, by clicking on the pictures below.)

    Glee Watch: NYADA, NYADA, NYADA

Spoilers for the season finale of Glee below:

One beef I often have with Glee episodes is that they move too fast, go in too many directions, try to cram in too much at once. You might say that about “Goodbye,” the season 3 finale, but in this case that approach seemed about right. It’s an episode about graduation, and graduation is something that, no matter how much you plan for and anticipate it, still goes too fast. Graduating is something you do, but in the moment it feels like something that happens to you, suddenly and all at once, like going over a waterfall.

As usual, Crystal and Didi and Big Mike and Siobhan are the only contestants I was impressed with. I thought Aaron Kelly did an OK job, but not as good as the judges thought he did. I liked Crystal’s song the best, it was a great version of one of my favorite songs. Gawd Paige, Tim Urban, and the Katiebot need to go home ASAP, followed by Andrew Garcia.

Last night was such a disappointment – Casey and Lee were underwhelming and Paige was a mess. Crystal, Michael, and Siobhan further pulled ahead as the frontrunners. My bet is on Tim or Andrew to go home tonight. Thoughts?
