Political Geek Heaven: C-SPAN Opens Up the Archives

Here’s what your favorite political obsessive is going to be doing today, now that Rep. Dennis Kucinich has already had his minute in the spotlight announcing his support of the health-care bill: poring through the C-SPAN Video Library, a collection of every video on the public affairs network since 1987. The database is massive and massively searchable, as well as curated into lists of memorable moments, including Dan Quayle (above) talking about his argument with Murphy Brown.

Besides embedding, the archive includes buttons for Facebook and Twitter sharing, allowing, the network says, for “extensive social media opportunities.” Depending on your definition of “social.”
