CBS Down to One and a Half Men as Charlie Sheen Heads to Rehab

And he seemed so stable! A publicist for Charlie Sheen released a statement today that the actor would be taking a leave of absence from Two and a Half Men while he checks into rehab for undisclosed reasons. Where, why and for how long are all up in the air.

In December, Sheen was arrested for domestic violence, but that run-in didn’t harm ratings of his sitcom, which remains one of CBS’s biggest performers (though The Big Bang Theory has lately become a heavy hitter). Depending how long Sheen’s out and how it effects production of the comedy, this could be a blow for the network. But given that Sheen has done rehab stints twice before, you could say this is the price of doing business with him.
