James, it’s not your job to post every late night clip about this mess, and you’re probably pretty tired of it, but wow, I hope you saw Letterman last night. He just eviscerated Jay Leno. He called what he is doing now, “vintage Jay” and took apart Leno’s defense from the other night. I though Letterman was, as he keeps saying, just having fun, but now I think the guy flat out hates Jay Leno. The show–with the spokesperson of the U.N’s World Food Program on in an interview that showed off Letterman’s strong moral sense–really kind of demonstrated that Letterman is now a broadcasting legend and a national treasure. He is not the bitter, misanthropic person he is portrayed as, but a world class satirist taking aim at cupidity and unethical behavior wherever they may be.

This is probably the best explaination of the whole situation I’ve seen. They really captured the character of Zucker.

Was that Jimmy Fallon throwing the dirt balls? That may have been the only bit I missed.
