Tuned In

Our Thursday Problem

The emerging consensus in Tuned Inland is that Thursday is becoming a problem. A high-class problem, yes: too much good (or at least potentially good) TV. I don’t even watch Grey’s Anatomy, yet at this point, I find myself finishing my time-shifted Thursday-night programming somewhere around the following Monday—especially since Mrs. Tuned In and I have a tradition of watching Wednesday’s Top Chef on Thursday as well. (This Thursday, not only does 30 Rock return but I’m attending a live event for Monty Python’s 40th anniversary—so I could be watching Thursday’s shows well into 2010.)

Fortunately, I get advance screeners of some shows, so that helps. You don’t have that luxury, so I ask you: if you record/Hulu TV, in what order do you watch your Thursday TV? If you only watch live, which shows do you watch and which have you dropped? And when can we get some of these babies airlifted to Tuesday at 8 or 9 p.m.?

After the jump, my list:

IN ADVANCE, WHEN I GET SCREENERS

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

THURSDAY NIGHT (with a Tivo buffer to skip ads)

NBCs comedies (excepting Weekend Update Thursday): Update–in this order, Parks & Rec, The Office, 30 Rock (Community may now fall to Friday/weekend/when I get around to it)

Wednesday’s Top Chef

Survivor (sometimes)

FRIDAY / OVER THE WEEKEND

Project Runway

Survivor (sometimes)

mythology episodes of Fringe

WHEN I GET AROUND TO IT

nonmythology episodes of Fringe

FlashForward

episodes of It’s Always Sunny I didn’t get advance DVDs of
