Between Leno duty and returning from vacation, I never got around to reviewing The CW’s The Vampire Diaries, but judging by its premiere last night, I’ll have plenty of time to get around to it. The Kevin Williamson show ended up being The CW’s highest-rated debut ever at 4.8 million viewers, proving there’s still blood in vampiremania’s undead veins. How did the True Blood fans out there think it stacked up to Stackhouse?

I liked it very much! Its obviously very stupid, but its (uninentionally) funny and earnest and does not try to be hip and cool.

Of course this show should never be mentioned in the same sentence as TRUE BLOOD. While it is a “nice” show, the story does not make me want to tune in for the next episode. It doesn’t really matter that it’s not vulgar and out there like the previously mentioned series, it just lacks that intriguing factor that make you want to see more.
