My favorite’s Bob Costas. I’m not sure he should wear that as a badge of honor, because as I have said often, I don’t watch sports. But he always radiates this lively intelligence and curiosity, which makes me think that I’d love to hear him take on topics other than sports. Which he occasionally does, but the man’s a sportscaster, so I have to deal with that.
I’m not sure, on the other hand, whether we can still consider Keith Olbermann a sportscaster, but nominate him if you like. Or anyone from the burgeoning wide world of cable-sports-talk shows that I almost completely ignore.
Or, if you’re more like me, just nominate your favorite cooking-show host. Could we get Anthony Bourdain and Costas a show together?
