Now You, Too, Can Take a Break from Jon and Kate

The LA Times’ Showtracker blog is reporting that after next week’s clip special, Jon & Kate Plus 8 will go on hiatus until Aug. 3. The network ordered the break, says the LA Times.

I suppose we can begin taking bets on whether the show, now about a divorcing, scandal-plagued couple and their eight young children, will actually come back at all (this may be the network catching its breath, gauging the audience mood and figuring out its next move). But the post notes that J&K was only six episodes into a 40-episode order for the season. That’s 34 more episodes of awkward, people.

I think I am even more disgusted now that the show has been annouced to continue despite the oncoming divorce. Seriously. Divorce regardless of any possible litgitamice is an ugly affair. Add 8 beautiful children and it gets worse. Jon, Kate, some advice. Get off the air and take care of you kids and get your life in order. No amount of money is worth putting your children through all this.
