PBS Gets PC…

…no, the other kind of PC. Starting today, PBS goes the way of Hulu, making several programs available streaming on your computer via the PBS Video portal, including Masterpiece (including the recent Little Dorrit), Antiques Roadshow, Frontline and other public TV programs. (PBS Kids has been streaming children’s shows online since fall.)

PBS is also using the beta site to debut  Time Team America before its launch on regular TV this summer. Despite the title, the show—which visits U.S. archaeological dig sites—has nothing to do with this magazine, time travel or filthy-mouthed marionettes having sex.

Spoilers for the season finale of Glee below:

One beef I often have with Glee episodes is that they move too fast, go in too many directions, try to cram in too much at once. You might say that about “Goodbye,” the season 3 finale, but in this case that approach seemed about right. It’s an episode about graduation, and graduation is something that, no matter how much you plan for and anticipate it, still goes too fast. Graduating is something you do, but in the moment it feels like something that happens to you, suddenly and all at once, like going over a waterfall.

This is pretty awesome. I hope they put on more of their American Experience documentaries. I wonder why they haven’t done more of this before.

“Team America: Time Police” sounds like a winning sequel, imo.

Cool. Thanks for the heads up JP. I love ‘Little Dorrit’ and keep forgetting to set it up on DVR. Now I can catch up. Nice.
