When (and if) you first heard about Party Down, the new comedy on Starz, your reaction was probably the same as mine: do I have Starz? Now would be a good time to find out, because this show—from Rob Thomas and Paul Rudd and with a cast including Adam Scott, Jane Lynch and Martin Starr—is worth your time and pay-cable dollar. Following a group of frustrated L.A. actors and screenwriters working for a party-catering company, the series, as I said in my brief TIME review, does for cater-waiting what Taxi did for driving. (Though the comic sensibility is closer to a pay-cable Undeclared, or a Judd Apatow movie.)
