The Morning After: Chekhov Is Russian for Karma

Brief spoilers for last night’s The Amazing Race coming up after the jump:

So if there was any cultural stereotype that the hearing-impaired were saintly, sympathetic individuals, thank Margie and Luke for shattering that one as well. The mother-and-son team showed that there’s no reason the deaf can’t use a blind U-Turn—and since the strategy effective eliminated Amanda and Kris, the victims of their subterfuge are left mute. Will the news of their using the U-Turn end up losing them sympathy on the race? Probably not, since their victims are not around to seethe, and everyone else lived to race another day as a result, they shouldn’t have much problem accepting that it’s all part of the game.

In all, another satisfying installment in what’s looking like one of TAR’s better seasons, complete with a visit to a Siberian hamlet that looked a little like Borat’s hometown in Kazakhstan. Do you look at Margie and Luke any differently now?
