Tuned In

Programming Note

Since I posted on the season 2 debut of Breaking Bad Friday, feel free to use this post to discuss it. Also, this is as good a time as any to discuss a crisis affecting Tuned In: There is just too damn much good TV on the weekends for me to blog it all, without hiring either a personal assistant or a second father for the Tuned In Jrs.

As it is, I’m doing Big Love and BSG (only a few episodes left, but still) on a weekly basis. I’ve been blogging Flight of the Conchords occasionally and Friday Night Lights from time to time. Theoretically, I’d like to do more with United States of Tara (which I’m now a couple episodes behind on). This season of The Amazing Race is good enough to merit occasional comment. Now Breaking Bad is here, Kings will be along in another week—if Joss Whedon makes good on his threat to improve Dollhouse, I’m screwed.

Suffice it to say I am not going to get to it all—particularly when I’m on deadline, as I am today. I’m going to keep up the BSG Watch posts, because we’re up to the finale; I’ll keep doing Big Love, because I want to and because there aren’t as many other critics out there blogging it. Beyond that—it’s catch as catch can. I’ll write on some of these other shows when they especially grab my notice and I have time. Beyond that, if I’m not writing about your favorite Friday or Sunday show, it’s not that I don’t care. It’s just that I can’t be bothered to. There’s a difference!

I’ll have a Big Love post eventually. In the meantime, feel free to discuss any of the rest of the weekend’s TV if you care to. And if you want to write my next column for me while you’re at it—hey, I won’t stop you.
