Vacation Robo-Post: Your Favorite TV President

Good morning, and welcome to your week of pre-programmed robo-posts. Today is President’s Day, which means two things: (1) I am on a plane, hightailing it out of New York airspace and trying not to think of water landings on the Hudson, and (2) it’s time for a TV President War!

Bartlet for America? Palmer for America? Or are you partial to Richard Nixon, the Futurama preserved-head edition? Cast your vote!

Definitely Bartlet. Admittedly, I’ve never watched 24 or Commander-in-Chief or any other shows that have had a president as a significant character, but I’m still pretty confident that Bartlet’s the best-written, most-nuanced TV president out there.

Most definitely Jed Bartlet. I prefer to have a president in the White House who is both a reader and a thinker. Bush claims to have read a great number of books, but certainly can’t claim to be a thinker. I think Clinton had both, and so does Obama. But whatever Jed did, I trusted it was the right decision. And he cared for people.
