A few ratings numbers from here and there:

* Last night’s Lost edged out the debut of Lie to Me (with an American Idol lead-in), but barely. Lost’s adult rating dropped 25% from last season, though, the Hollywood Reporter notes, the comparison to last year’s Thursday time slot is not entirely apples-to-apples.

* Nielsen reports that 37.8 million watched coverage of President Obama’s inauguration, the most since 1981 when 41.8 million watched President Reagan’s. (Then, of course, no one was streaming the coverage online.)

* United States of Tara pulls off one of Showtime’s biggest premieres ever. All four of her.

* And finally: The CW’s Gossip Girl gets outsized attention in the media, especially here in New York. However, ABC Family is pleased to point out, The Secret Life of the American Teenager pulled 3.9 million viewers this week, to 2.7 for GG and company.
