Ricky Gervais to Tell You Yanks Whether You Got Your Election Right

The press releases announcing various networks’ election night coverage have been rolling in fast and furious, but for those of you looking for a little different perspective, here’s the lineup from BBC America (which has been doing a good job this election with their beefed-up U.S. news coverage):

Household names from the worlds of politics, journalism and show business will be joining the BBC’s global newscast to offer insights, analysis and their unique take on the night’s events in U.S. Election Night from 6:00 p.m. ET/3:00 p.m. PT, Tuesday, November 4 2008 on BBC AMERICA and BBC World News.

Among those appearing on the program will be Ricky Gervais, Christopher Hitchens, Larry Sabato, Karen Hughes, Terry Nelson, Jay McInerney, Richard Schiff, Bill Bradley, John Bolton and Gore Vidal.

Seriously, in addition to the Brit-off between Gervais and Hitchens, it’s a pretty interesting lineup. Especially with Schiff there to discuss those vital West Wing parallels

I’m glad Ricky Gervais will be there, but I’m far more interested in hearing Karl Pilkington’s thoughts on the 2008 election….

(By the way, James and other Tuned-Inlanders, if you haven’t listed to the Ricky Gervais Show podcasts, trust me — do it NOW. I laughed so hard I cried…..and really its because of Karl Pilkington, not Ricky…Karl is quite possibly the world’s first idiot comedy savant.)
