Look Who's Talking: Palin Opens Up

Credit where it’s due time. Tuned In has poked its share of fun at Sarah Palin and her cosseting from the press these past few weeks. But man, is the woman making up for lost time! She’s talking to CNN’s Situation Room today, doing an interview with NBC’s Brian Williams and has begun fielding questions from the reporters in her press pool. Which, even wicked liberal CBS News was forced to admit, is more than any of the other three folks on the national tickets have been doing lately.

It’s the right thing to do politically, I think. Is there the chance that Palin will say something, or somethings, unfortunate? Sure! But Joe Biden is living proof that the frequent gaffe is your friend; when a politician like Biden runs his mouth off so frequently and unguardedly, the chances are that much slimmer that any particular dopey remark will break through.

Also, it’s the right thing to do for her personally: say what you will about her politics or her experience, she is a charismatic, telegenic figure, and—for her own future interests, let alone the campaign—she should be looking to get herself on camera, turning on her personal magnetism, as much as possible.

Also, it’s the right thing to do, period. For whatever that’s worth.
