The Adventures of Milo & Otis

Dudley Moore
Essentially a live action pet calendar, this is arguably the cutest movie ever made. Blame Japan. The tale of an orange tabby cat and her best friend, a pug, was originally a Japanese feature. The American version, which featured a new voiceover by Dudley Moore, saw Milo and Otis help each other get out of sticky situations and frolick in the great outdoors. You get the idea. Totally ripe for a remake starring Ashton Kutcher and Tara Reid.
Turner & Hooch

1989
Tom Hanks, Mare Winningham, Craig T. Nelson, Reginald VelJohnson, Scott Paulin
A neat freak cop (Tom Hanks) teams up with a giant, drool-happy dog (Hooch) to solve a murder. Despite their differences — Hooch destroys Turner’s home — they miraculously solve the case and both find love. Not with each other, though. Also, way better than K-9, so don’t try to argue this one.
