Tuned In

Lost Discussion Group: Comic-Conversation

We may be in the summer doldrums, but Comic-Con came along last week to give us a few more nuggets to chew on before LDG takes a well-earned fall vacation. I’ll start with the video screened at the Lost panel, since I haven’t linked it here yet:

The most important bit of information is, of course, that Marvin Candle / Pierre Chang taught at my alma mater. And—who knows?—may teach there again, if someone finds a way to “change the past.” (About which, btw, I agree with Tom Shaw that having anyone actually change history and make the Dharma purge never have happened sounds weak in the extreme.)

But the future aspect of the video is intriguing in itself. What else does Dharma know about the future besides the President and the Internet? (Shout-out to any Dharma researchers reading Tuned In from the past! Sorry you have to die!) If Dharma is meant to avoid some kind of worldwide calamity—and my Lost mythology is a little blurry here—what do they know about it? Have they seen it?

Or discuss anything else about the video. One thing I think we’ve learned from last year’s Orchid video from Comic-Con is that we shouldn’t just write this one off as a gag.
