ABC

I’ve been busy lately finishing up a couple pieces that will run while I’m away on vacation (yes, those are Robo-James’ servo motors you hear warming up in the background), each of which involve many many hours of TV screening. So I haven’t had time to watch much more of ABC’s docu-series Hopkins—about the staff at the famous Baltimore hospital—than what aired last night. It’s my failing, because so far, like its predecessor, Hopkins 24/7, it’s an engrossing look at the personal and professional pressures that come with the job of keeping people alive. I’m not sure, however, how successful ABC will be in its apparent marketing plan of aiming the show at fans of Grey’s Anatomy, on whose night it’s running. Grey’s fan or not, what’s your diagnosis?
