Strike Poll: Out of Sight, Out of Mind?

I traded e-mails about this with Tim Goodman a while back, and he beat me to blogging on the subject, but I’m not too proud to be late…

So the strike is going to end. Maybe sooner, maybe later, but it will end. Your shows will return. But will you still care?

Granted, as a TV critic I’m more jaded than the average bear. But the strike has definitely had an out-of-sight-out-of-mind effect on me. Not so much about longrunning shows like Lost or The Office, which I’ve built up an attachment to, or for cable shows like Mad Men or BSG, which I’m used to waiting for through long hiatuses.

But new shows that debuted in the fall of 2007—hell, was there a fall of 2007? I can scarcely remember. I suppose I’ll watch Pushing Daisies and Reaper when they come back, but I can’t say I care much. We didn’t have enough time to bond. And those were a couple of my favorite new shows of the fall. I kid you not, I actually forgot Dirty Sexy Money ever existed until I saw it mentioned in the press release for HBO’s upcoming In Treatment.

So I put the question to you: Has the strike killed your love for the new shows of last fall? What are you still looking forward to? Or are you ready to start over from scratch?
