The Morning After: High-Resolution Democracy

CNN’s HD channel recently showed up unannounced on my cable menu, and I was anxious to try it out for last night’s Democratic debate in South Carolina. It wasn’t working, though, so I can’t tell you whether the hope and experience showed up brighter in high definition, and I’ve seen enough of these slugfests the past couple weeks that I didn’t feel the need to watch all of this one. (I did catch some of the oh-no-you-DIH-n’t highlights between Clinton and Obama, though.) If you did, feel free to weigh in here. Or simply answer the question: who watches the news in HD anyway? Is that a way I really want to encounter Larry King?
