Tuned In will shortly be returning to the air, having reached a tentative agreement with its writing staff of one. (My Internet residual rate will be increased to three dry food pellets per 1,000 pageviews. Yay!) So too will TV be returning from its holiday slumber, sort of, with a couples’ edition of The Biggest Loser premiering tonight to take advantage of post-holiday diet season, and the late-night talk shows starting to return–with or without writers–a day later. The Wire returns Sunday (it looks like HBO has begun running episodes On Demand a week early again, but I don’t plan to jump the gun on blogging them), the primary and caucus season becomes primarier and caucusier, and on Jan. 31, we finally find out who’s on Not Penny’s Boat, unless we don’t.
In the meantime, use this post for your morning-after postmortems of New Year’s Eve TV, bowl games, what have you. Or for your 2008 predictions, including the only one that matters: my money says the writer’s strike doesn’t get resolved until March, and probably later. With that, you may now resume drinking.
