The Morning After: It's Like Eating a Hot Circle of Garbage

It’s your regular last-night’s-TV-discussion clearinghouse. Yesterday, I wrote in this space, “I realize that complaining about an extra half hour of The Office is like cussing out the pizza delivery guy for bringing you an extra free pie.” I swear I had no idea that last night’s episode would involve the kidnapping of a pizza delivery guy. Did I blow your mind? I think I’m going to apply for that Uri Geller / Criss Angel show.

The Office, I thought, landed somewhere between the the previous two hourlongs; there wasn’t the emotional punch to the story that distinguishes the best Offices, but there were countless funny bits (Andy’s speakerphone a capella Abba serenade; the look of horror on Jim’s face after signing Meredith’s, ahem, intimate cast). More important, as opposed to the earlier Fun Run episode, Michael’s craziness (kidnapping the snotty pizza boy) stemmed from a real motivation, as a reaction to Ryan’s disrespect.

Also, I want to see Bee Movie less with every Jerry Seinfeld minisode I see.

Finally, you’ll notice I don’t write much about Grey’s Anatomy here. But anecdotally I hear more and more dissension amonng Grey’s fans I know. Any of you care to report? You are my eyes and ears!
