As we sit nervously awaiting The Day That Changed Everything, it’s worth wondering if the most interesting part of The CBS Evening News with Katie Couric will be the parts when Couric is not on-screen. The intriguing details that have leaked out, for instance, have to do with things like opinion segments–reportedly including Rush Limbaugh and Bill Clinton. Certainly CBS’s original plan was supposedly not to hire a big name–that came later–but to rethink the newscast.
At least Couric is taking that line. In a promotional interview with the New York CBS affiliate, Couric just said, "It’s really the entire news division that is behind an effort to revitalize, I think, and slightly tinker with the evening news."
Who cares if she’s making enough money to hire a news division all over again?
